My name is Ariel Harper. I’m 16 years-old and I ride with Shamrock Manor Equestrian. I’ve been riding since 2012 and have been showing with IEA since 2014. As I don’t show in any of the local shows, I have given myself lots of time to photograph the riders and horses. It first started as a hobby then I got contacted to shoot portrait sessions, lessons, and competitions. Eventually, my trainer, Megan, gave me the opportunity to intern with photographer Anne Gittins down in Wellington, Florida during WEF. I did that and learned so many more techniques that I now apply to my photography today. I balance public school five days a week and run my photography business with the help of my family. I love what I do even if when doing it sometimes causes an entirely different level of anxiety. But, in the end, it is all worth it to see the smiling faces of clients looking at what I created of them and/or their horses.
